Summer is, by far, my favorite time in NYC— below are some reasons why.
Movies in the parks. My favorite is Brooklyn Bridge Movies With A View but you’ll remember I also love Bryant Park (despite the intensity) and I’ve heard The Intrepid is pretty cool as well (apparently they give away free popcorn?!?).
Would you believe I watched Breakfast at Tiffany’s for the first time last week? Quite the quirky movie but (shocker) Audrey Hepburn was so fun to watch on screen and I really enjoyed finally sitting down to see this iconic NY film.
Concerts! Even if you don’t manage to get tickets to any of the many delightful concerts there are tons of free music options. Plus, you can usually picnic in any of the big parks and at least hear a show from the outside:)
Some friends and I finally took advantage of Summer Streets this weekend! So great to run through grand central and up the middle one of the busiest, most formal streets (Park Avenue) without a care in the world. Not to mention getting some exercise and awesome freebies along the way. I feel so blessed to live in a city with great opportunities— and impressed by the imagination and hard work of people who thought to make these great summer events happen!
